Seasongs:
Concert By Fylingdales Folk Choir
Wednesday 31st May, 18.00pm - 20.00pm
The excellent Fylingdales Folk Choir will sing songs of the sea, and a few others besides, on board the Southern Star, headquarters of the Seagrown Marine Industry, moored by Scarborough’s Vincent Pier. Doors open at 6pm for a seaside concert in this very unusual setting.
This friendly community choir has over thirty members and is developing a great reputation for the strength and warmth of its singing. We sing traditional and contemporary folk, plus a bit of pop and gospel and some original numbers, all in glorious four-part harmony. Songs are arranged by our choir leader, Gillian Edwards. We have performed regularly at Robin Hood’s Bay Folk Festivals and Victorian Weekends, at Scarborough Big Ideas Festival last year, and at the Whitby Fish & Ships Festival in 2022, where we entertained an appreciative audience on Tate Hill Pier. Our singing is guaranteed to lift the spirits!
This will be an atmospheric and enjoyable concert.
