Exploring Scarborough’s Photographic History,

Martha Cattell & Jonathan Wallis

Saturday 18th May, 3.00pm - 4.00pm

As Britain’s first seaside resort, Scarborough and its visitors have always been the focus of a lens, camera or film.

Photo Scarborough has been set up as a new creative and research project exploring the rich photographic histories of Scarborough, tracking the many photographers that flocked to the town to set up studios or pop up darkrooms to capture visiting tourists or towns-folk.

This informal talk will introduce the project, explore some initial findings and discuss how people can become more involved.
